Jacob W. Ketchum

Forester, Field Operations Manager

Jacob Ketchum was born and raised in the Screamer Community in Henry County, Alabama. Jacob grew up with “sawdust in his blood” as his great-grandfather and uncle were very good logging contractors. Jacob’s other grandfather worked his entire career as a sawmill manager.

Jacob got an early start in forestry working in the woods with his cousin Earl. When in high school, Jacob’s summer job was painting property boundaries for Ketchum Land and Timber and his Christmas break job was helping manage tree planting.

After high school, Jacob attended forestry school at Lurlean B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia, Alabama. After receiving his associates degree, Jacob started his professional career with Ketchum Land and Timber. At Ketchum, Jacob is the field operations manager. He manages several logging contractors on a daily basis as well as oversees other forest management activity.

In his personal time Jacob enjoys duck hunting, golfing, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

Earl Ketchum, Jr.

Managing Member, Registered Forester

Earl grew up in Barbour County, Alabama. As a young child, Earl remembers going to the “wood yard” with his Dad when he was out of school for summer breaks. From those “wood yard” visits, Earl apparently got pine rosin in his blood and it never went away. As a high school kid, Earl’s summer job was painting landlines and marking shortleaf pine out of natural loblolly pine stands. After high school, forestry and Auburn University seemed like a natural fit for Earl. Earl graduated Auburn with a BS in Forest Resources in 1997.

After graduation, Earl worked as a land management forester for M. C. Dixon Lumber Company in Eufaula for 3 years until he started his own consulting forestry firm. Since 1999, Earl has been assisting private forest landowners with comprehensive forestry management services. Earl takes pride in the fact that today he currently has over 200 clients with over 90,000 acres under management. Earl is very resourceful with respect to marketing stumpage to the correct market place at the correct time in order to maximize the rate of return for the client. Earl is a Registered Forester in the State of Alabama and the State of Georgia. He is also a licensed Real Estate Agent with The Brown Agency, Inc. in Opelika, Alabama. Earl is married to Kelli Faught Ketchum. They have three sons Riley 18, Grayden 14, and Cannon 11. They live in Opelika, Alabama.

Earl is also a licensed Realtor with The Brown Agency, Inc.
